More than twenty years ago, as we bundled off our youngest kids to school, my four friends and I wondered what we would do with that free time. Yes, we could have attended to our overflowing sinks and laundry baskets but we decided to use our newfound luxury to read.
Within a year, we had other mothers join our little morning gatherings. Then, we had pen pals from Europe, exchanging notes about good books they had found and we kept growing. In 10 years, we had a little over 2000 members. Friends of friends of friends who were hooked on sharing books and telling each other about their latest read.
When eBooks started becoming popular, none of us could imagine ever giving up our paperbacks and book shelves. But change we must. If anything, we are bound to discover even more wonderful books and writers.
As of 1 December 2012, a few of us have teamed up with Pandora and her team from Orangeberry on our quest to discover more books and to learn about this exciting new venture known as 'book blogging.'
